About us
The Stone House Centre was founded by Aquina Lumka Matthews. Having to work in a NGO and NPO sector for more than twenty years, starting from the children protection Centres, GBV Shelters up to migrants and refugee Centre, I saw a need in society for a place where young women from the ages of 18 to 35 years of age can go, a home away from home. When these so-called adults exits the child and youth centre’s they are expected to be grown ups and independent hence such circumstances forces them to cohabit, marry or to be in abusive situations as they are still vulnerable and in need of guidance, protection and care.
Having to grow up not having the support structure wholistically is very painful and challenging and this I know from my personal experience and through this, a registered NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION was founded in the community of Delft, Cape Town, South Africa.

- The scourge of poverty, crime, abuse and drug-abuse in our society is a battle we can win if we work together. As an individual you can make a difference.
Progress
We are proud of each member of our organization, because it’s important to be a great team. We did already a lot, but it isn’t limit of our opportunities. We are looking for ways to young women with necessary things and information.
